It is slightly embarrassing, but
when I was about 12 years old, I've had a huge crush on Eminem. He is a rap
singer from Detroit, whose career seems to be coming to an end now. I remember
being absolutely fascinated by his music, which of course made me eager to
learn English in order to understand the lyrics. The lyrics turned out to be
vulgar and full of violence, but this couldn't stop my love for him (or at
least I thought so at that time).
I remember wearing an ugly tee with the picture of
Marshall Mathers on it - the saddest part is that I wouldn't give it to my
mother to wash it, as I wanted to wear it every day. She would steal the tee
from me when I was asleep and wash it against my will - that made me skip the
very first classes in the mornings, as I was too busy trying to dry it with my blow-dryer.
Nevertheless, the most traumatic experience connected
with my affection towards Eminem isn't the one connected with the t-shirt. One
time, I tried to reach for something from the highest shelf in my room - being
extremely bright I decided to use a caster chair to fulfill my goal. As
everyone can probably imagine, I fell down immediately, tearing my favorite
Eminem poster up. My dream boyfriend's head was literally hanging pathetically which
made me cry...
What a choice of the language standard! ;) Did you ask your English teacher for help with the lyrics?
